A Milton man, Fritz Gabriel, 69, working as a practice manager for Forest Hills Dental in Dorchester, has had additional charges filed against him for unauthorized issuance of prescriptions and unauthorized use of a patient’s credit by the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office. 

Gabriel had been charged in May with unlicensed practice of dentistry, Medicaid false claims, assault and battery and larceny.

The allegations announced in December include holding himself out as a licensed dentist and using another dentist’s controlled substances registration number without their knowledge to write prescriptions for Percocet and hydrocodone.

Also, Gabriel is charged with assisting a patient open a credit card and then using it without their knowledge to make more than $6,000 in purchases.

He had been charged in May with practicing dentistry without a license and billing Medicaid for services never performed. Forest Hills Dental was also charged with Medicaid false claims and larceny.

In May the facts Gabriel was accused of consisted of pulling a tooth and leaving an exposed root in a patient’s mouth without a dental license.

Attorney General Andrea Campbell’s office announced the charges as part of an effort to “hold accountable those who misuse roles of authority or public trust, including within the dental industry and through abuse of the state’s Medicaid program, MassHealth.”

Charges for Medicaid false claims filed by the AGO in March and June against were also filed against dentists in Worcester and Falmouth.
