March 16 – 17, 2018 at the Providence, RI Hilton

Friday evening’s Paint and Sip was so much fun!

The CoFounders of NEPAM welcomed us all to a day to LEARN, COLLABORATE and ADVANCE.  It is NEPAM’s mission to provide an opportunity for Dental Practice Administrators, Aspiring Managers, and Managers from all dental specialties to attend a geographically convenient and affordable venue that fosters continuous learning and collaboration with like-minded dental professionals in a supportive environment as we achieve the next level of professionalism.
Nancy Clark Crossin, Angela Donovan and Allison Tait-Enright gave us all that and more!

This year’s speakers were:
Practice Management Expert – Debra Engelhardt-Nash.  Debra is one of the foremost speakers in the industry!  We all learned so much from her wisdom!  And, she was a fun speaker; warm, funny and to the point!  We’ll have several articles written by members in our next newsletter.

A few gems included:
“Patients come to you because they want you to take them to a better place. They may not know where that is but they want you to take them there.”
“Care is a verb, not a noun.”
“Keep your knees bent; don’t be so locked in your ways that you are not willing to change.”
“I have a problem and I need your help. It was my understanding that….”
“Fear is wetting your pants.  Courage is what you do while wearing wet pants!”

Dental Practice Marketing Expert –  Brenda Ashwell had lots of good information and suggestions to help us take our Social Media Marketing to the next level.
She went over Facebook Insights and Resources so we had a better understanding of when to post and what got the most attention.
She then told us the secrets of Instagram – Aesthetics!  Color scheme, lighting and Spacing are super important in this very visual media. Another tip – 70% of Instagram users play contests so have a fun contest.

Inspirational / Motivational Speaker – Aaron Hairston wowed the group with his warmth and humor.  He advised us to “Create The Ideal Day” and to Start With Gratitude. Then, “Plant Seeds” that will grow over time. Lastly, “Allow Permission for Adjustment.”  When necessary, Call “Time Out” to regroup.
Ask yourself:

  • What do I want to feel and achieve in my next activity?
  • What energy do I want to bring to my next activity?
How can I do this next task with excellence?
How can I enjoy the process?

A Brainstorming session was led by Nancy Crossin and she challenged us to:
List our Top 3 ideas and how to implement them
Give ourselves a timeline to our results
Have a plan how to bring the whole team onboard for these new ideas

The group shared their top ideas and how they were going to carry them out. Many people had similar ideas and we all took away new intentions.
