“We Help Small Businesses Find Top Talent”
How Did DJP Right Fit Recruiting, LLC Get Started?
Education is always the foundation, and I started my preparation for my career with a BS in Human Resources and an MBA. My work career actually began in the Air National Guard for 6 years after graduating from college. The majority of my career was spent as the VPHR for a large manufacturer in southeastern, MA, where I spent 20 years, as well as the Vice President of Human Resources for a large Rhode Island hospital. I also taught HR Management at UMASS Dartmouth, and at Bristol Community College for three years. While teaching, I developed an interest in launching my own Recruiting/HR Business for small businesses.
What Was the Premise Surrounding the Business?
I thought about how small businesses must struggle recruiting top talent, and handling HR, without having a dedicated Recruiter or Human Resource professional on their team. After research, I found that small businesses simply, “post and pray” to find help, or more frequently, just hire friends and family. For HR matters, I found that many small businesses often turn immediately to costly legal professionals to help them with HR matters.
My idea was to provide recruitment and/or HR services strictly on an on demand, as needed basis.
How Long Have You Been in Business?
We just celebrated our 11th year anniversary this month!
Where Do Your Clients Come From?
The majority of my clients have come from referrals from current clients, as one business owner tells another about their satisfaction with our recruiting services.
What Positions Do You Recruit For?
We recruit for a wide variety of industries and businesses. We do heavy recruiting in the dental industry, legal, healthcare, manufacturing, hospitality, construction industry, insurance, and more. We have recruited for all levels of positions, from CFO’s through receptionists, and most jobs in between. We recruit for technical, professional, administrative, management, operations, and more.
What Do You Love About Recruiting?
The challenge of rigorously screening and finding that candidate, who is the “right fit” for the company, leading to a successful new team member. I love finding that individual to match the business owner’s ideal candidate, who will be successful and flourish in their new role.
What Type of Clients Do You Seek?
We seek clients whose values match our own. Our values of, Respect, Integrity, Creativity, and Passion, are embedded in all that we do. They are lived in how we treat clients and candidates alike. This means keeping clients and candidates informed concerning the search, screening, interview process and progress. Getting back to people is important to us as we develop long term relationships with both clients and candidates.
How Are You Different Than Other Recruiting Firms?
- We work evenings, weekends and holidays, when candidates are job searching. We are not 9 – 5 recruiters. We are nimble and move fast.
- We help our clients improve their online ratings in order to attract candidates. Then, we help our clients retain staff by recommending needed HR programs.
- We are our clients outsourced recruiters. They call us when they need us, yet, we keep our eyes out for top talent for our clients even when there are no vacancies.
- We charge reasonable fees for our small businesses, very different that large recruiting firms, as we too are a small business.
- We will not invoice the client until we know that both parties are pleased.
- We stand by our work, we stand by our clients, and we stand by our candidates we refer. If the new hire doesn’t work out, we will re-recruit without a fee and we put the replacement recruitment as a top priority to backfill that position quickly.
What Size Clients Do You Recruit For?
Small businesses who struggle to find help, with an affinity towards for family businesses, as we are a family business.
How Did DJP Right Fit Recruiting become a family business?
As the company continued to grow, I realized that I needed support to ensure our clients recruiting needs were met. Several years ago, I invited my niece, Katlyn Almeida, who had a very successful, 22 year career in the dental industry, to join the company. She is a talented Recruiting Manager handling a large recruitment load, and with an outstanding fill and retention rate for her referred candidates.
She uses technology to the fullest to conduct her searches and clients and candidates thoroughly enjoy working with her. She works tirelessly to find her clients the best qualified candidate the labor market has to offer. She is an amazing communicator who isn’t afraid to have a difficult conversation. Yet, she does it with grace.
What is the Vision of the Company?
To continue to partner with our clients and help them grow their businesses. We become a small part of our client’s businesses and their success, and that give us great satisfaction. So, our vision is not to be the biggest or get bigger, but to be the best; the best at what we do and what we provide to our clients.
